Preschool Classes

Freedom Church: K3/K4 Ballet

Materials Fee: $45

Supplies Required: Girls will need to wear pink ballet tights, a pink or black leotard, a pink or black ballet skirt (pull-on elastic is best), and pink ballet shoes. Boys will need to wear a white t-shirt tucked into black shorts, white socks, and black ballet shoes. Please email the instructor if you have questions about purchasing attire.
Course Description: This is a pre-ballet/creative movement class for 3 & 4 year olds. The students will learn classical ballet positions, basic ballet movements, and explore creativity with a focus on worshiping God through the art of ballet. A costume will need to be purchased for performances. Your materials fee is intended to cover the price of the costumes. 
*Please note that students who will turn 5 years old by September 1st should register for the Ballet 1 class.

Course Description: Storybook class will explore the wonderful, exciting world of children’s literature!! Each class period will be a theme-based fifty minutes of reading, discussion, and activity. No one is ever too old for a delightful picture book! We will meet new friends and learn about amazing things along the way! Some of the topics we will explore are: seasons, holidays, community helpers, animals, pets, friends, and family, along with several well known children’s authors: Eric Carle, Kevin Henkes, Rosemary Wells, and many others. This class is designed to be a delightful happy hour spent reading and will, hopefully, help to instill in your child a love of and desire to read. “There is no substitute for books in the life of a child!” -May Ellen Chase Although we may occasionally do an art or craft project that compliments the subject matter, this class is primarily a story hour designed to encourage and enhance early reading skills. This class does not require the purchase of any books or materials on the part of the parent. To participate in the class all children must be at least 3 years old by August, completely potty trained, and able to sit for a reasonable period of time.

Course Discription:
​Pre-school science class will study and explore basic science concepts for early learners. Class time will be spent in discussion and simple experimentation providing hands on learning for this early age group. This interactive class gently introduces children to science through the account of creation in Genesis 1. Science concepts for each day of creation will be broken into unit studies lasting 4-5 weeks each. Students will create a lap book for each day of creation. Some of the science concepts we will explore include: matter, molecules, the atmosphere, clouds, the ocean, soil, plants, photosynthesis, our solar system, time, insects, birds, marine creatures, mammals, and the amazing human body! Your child will be amazed at God’s amazing handiwork!! This class is best suited for 4 and 5 year olds. Students will need to be able to color, write their name, and sit still for a reasonable period of time, as well as being verbal and completely potty trained. There are no additional materials to be purchased by the parent.

Class description: Letter of the Week is an enjoyable and gentle learning experience for the preschool child. We will focus on a new letter of the alphabet each week and use crafts, snacks, music and stories to help the student learn the letter and the sound it makes. All children must be potty trained to attend Preschool classes.

Course Description:
Students will learn basic Spanish vocabulary such as: colors, numbers, animals, and foods.
We will use a variety of methods including music, games, coloring, and videos.
The participation of the parents at home is encouraged to practice the new Spanish vocabulary learned each week.

Class description: This course is designed to teach preschoolers the basics of crafting and art. The goal is to teach hand and eye coordination by using scissors, glue, and a variety of other supplies. The students will also learn how to follow directions as they assemble crafts each week.
All children must be potty trained to attend Preschool classes.

Elementary Science Lab

Course Description: Science is fun! Students learn through hands-on lab experiments, model making, microscopic exploring, instructor demonstrations and more. The year will be divided into unit studies of physics, biology, astronomy, geology, ecology and chemistry. With experiments, students will develop a hypothesis and work as a team in performing the experiment to find the result and answer the question, “Was your hypothesis correct?” Students will document their learning experience by filling out age-appropriate lab reports which will be sent home each week. This class is intended to be an exciting no-pressure learning experience; therefore, it has no homework and no required curriculum. It is a great companion to the science curriculum of your choice.

Elementary Art is a fun class where we learn the elements of art through drawing, painting, and collage. There is something for every interest and every skill level. We will focus on good craftsmanship as we study the color wheel, the masters, and international art. We continuously focus on a positive mindset while creating! Please have students bring a folder with two pockets for their artwork.

Course Description:

Does your child like to sing? Do they want to be on stage? This class is for all budding young singers. We will also be performing in the Christmas Program and performing a Spring Musical. In the past Mrs. King has produced Winnie the Pooh and ., The Jungle Book" and The Lion King" and others. With very little extra rehearsals this class is a great introduction to musical theater. We will have tryouts for major parts but I try to make sure every child is on the stage as much as possible. Parents are responsible for costumes.
SHEEP Moncks Corner is offering Musical Theater. This Spring we will be performing Disney's Aristocats Kids. Parents will be responsible for costumes, but they will be minimal this year. Costumes will be very simple this year.

Course Description: This is an exciting introduction to the many different fields of science. We will be exploring Biology, Marine Science, Chemistry, Physics, and so much more. The class will include review the material in the book and hands on lab experiments to demonstrate concepts that we are learning. Chapter reading and chapter test will be completed at home as well as lab reports and any additional assignments not completed in class. A detailed syllabus will be provided before class begins that includes lesson plans and assignments for the year. Students will be required to keep a notebook for lab reports, assignments and handouts.

This class is geared for the struggling student within middle school math concepts. It is an enrichment class in addition to their normal math studies. The class will cover difficult and foundational concepts such as multi-number multiplication and division, fractions, decimals, measurement, geometry, etc. This class will prepare the student with solid understanding of math skills they may have missed or struggled with to prepare them for higher math classes. The student needs knowledge of basic multiplication and division facts.
