Deborah Blauch
Deborah Blauch graduated from Messiah College with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work in 1990. She married Andrew that same year. They have six wonderful children and have been homeschooling since 1998. Deborah loves teaching her own children and has enjoyed teaching classes to homeschool students since 2011. Kristi Combs
Kristi Combs will be teaching Storybook class and Little House on the Prairie this year. Kristi is new to SHEEP and the Summerville area, but a veteran teacher and homeschooler. Kristi graduated from college with a degree in Elementary Education and taught school in the public education system and in a faith based private school for 10 years. She then decided to teach her own children at home and became a homeschooling mom for the next 22 years. Her 3 children Fairlight Kloxin, Sonny Combs, and Violet Combs were homeschooled through high school. Kristi has taught in several other homeschool coop classes and served as the President of the local homeschool organization while her younger children were in high school. Kristi and her husband, Fran, relocated to Summerville last September to be close to their daughter, Fairlight, and their grandchildren. Dawn Griffin
Dawn has been married for 23 years to Shannon Griffin. They started their daughters homeschool journey in 2016 and have enjoyed watching her blossom in the homeschool environment. Dawn graduated with an Associates in Industrial Technology from Trident Technical College. Tina Dunning
Tina is a native of Charleston. She lives in Summerville with her husband and two daughters. She has been teaching at SHEEP since 2008 . Tina has been homeschooling since 2003. Wendy Inocente
Wendy Inocente has been married for seventeen years and has five children. She has homeschooled her youngest three children for six years. She graduated from College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Art in English Education. She taught for three years in Georgia, and taught English and newspaper at Stratford High School for five years. 2012-13 will be her second year teaching at SHEEP. She loves teaching homeschoolers and believes helping parents homeschool their children is one way she can glorify God. Amy King
Amy King is the director and founder of SHEEP. She has been teaching music to students of all ages since 1997. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The College of Charleston. She has been homescooling since 1998 and has two homeschool graduates. Amy also has an elementary son, Robert that she loves to homeschool. Amy loves music and loves teaching music. Fairlight Kloxin
Fairlight Kloxin is the mother to three children (Olivia, Sadie-Rose, and Samuel) and wife of 14 years to Michael. This is her 10th year of homeschooling and has been homeschooling her children since the beginning of their education. She is herself, a home school graduate as well. She has called Summerville her home for the past 15 years. Her hobbies include sewing, reading, needlework, jewelry making, painting, knitting, cooking, decorating, thrift store shopping, costuming, and gardening. She enjoys sharing her love and knowledge of art, literature, and history with children. This is her 3rd year helping at SHEEP and her 1st year as a teacher. She will be teaching Mixed Media and American Girl this year. Maria Knighton
Maria Knighton, Preschool Art teacher as well as our new class Colors, Numbers and Biblical Charater Traits She is originally from Florida and has lived in Summerville since 2007. She is a full time mother who homeschools five of her seven children. She began teacher at SHEEP in 2009. Crystal McCall
Crystal McCall is a Charleston native, residing in Summerville with her husband, three children, and two spoiled-rotten Boykin Spaniels. Crystal graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Charleston Southern University in 2009. She now continues her studies at CSU in pursuit of a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. She plans to become licensed in SC so she can one day own or partner with a private Christian counseling center in the Charleston area. She is an active member of Journey Church in Ladson. She has had the joy of homeschooling for seven years and is always excited about teaching at SHEEP. Her favorite promise in scripture is found in Lamentations 3:22-23. Great is His faithfulness. I was born and raised close to Paris and I lived in Montreal, Canada for 7 years. I came to Charleston 13 years ago to follow my husband for work purposes. I have two wonderful teenage boys.In France, I obtained a European MBA in International Human Resources Management and worked in training & communications for a national automotive company. Since 2000, I have been serving Lowcountry companies with a unique Gift & Incentive program. I have also taught French in different schools from pre-school to college students and do some interpreting for major companies. It will be my third year at SHEEP. Joell Morris
Joell is the wife of her high school sweetheart, Clyn, and the mom of Jacob and Emma. Joell and her family have made their home in Summerville since 2007. In 2009, they felt led to homeschool Jacob as he was entering high school. Jacob, a SHEEP alum, and a 2013 homeschool graduate, now helps his mom teach at SHEEP each week. SHEEP has been a wonderful blessing in their lives! Since 2010, Joell has taught a variety of classes at SHEEP. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Western Carolina University, and enjoys music, journaling, serving at her church, and hanging out with her family. Kim Murphy
Kim Murphy is mother to Jack and Jenna and wife to Mike, who upon introducing himself at their first meeting, told her he was a doctor and that she would marry him. That’s 1 out of 2, but his batting average has improved since then. Kim is a Certified Instructor for the Institute for Excellence in Writing and has taught IEW at home and in the classroom since 2008. She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Tampa, but insists everything she knows she learned homeschooling. She loves IEW because it is incremental, easy-to-follow, and has transformed her own two, very reluctant writers into confident, creative, competent communicators who enjoy a good alliteration as much as the next guy. She loves bacon, butter, Brussels sprouts, and the Bronte sisters, not necessarily in that order. No, wait….yes, in that order. Tiffany Norwood
Hi! I am Tiffany Norwood. I am a 37 year old mom to 3 children. I have been married 14 years. I have two 6 year old boys and a 9 year old daughter. I have been homeschooling for 5years. I have my degree in Elementary Education and taught 3rd grade for 7 years. My desire for my children and others is to have a love of learning and a joy for reading. I teach with a multi sensory approach, which means I present information in different modalities(tactile, kinesthetic, auditory, and tactile) in order to reach all learning styles. I enjoy hiking, the beach, painting, and reading. I look forward to working together! |
Sherry Osborne
Sherry has a BS in Elementary Education, graduate work with the STEPS (Sequential Teaching of Explicit Phonics and Spelling) curriculum, and training in SWR (Spell to Write & Read) method. She has taught all abilities, which includes a special needs son, using these methods both in public school & for many years in SHEEP. She has trained her friend, Marci Wallace, in the program and is thankful to have her help in teaching the program to Sherry’s older children. Sherry is very passionate about helping children learn how to become better spellers and readers, so they can read God’s word for themselves. She is blessed to have been homeschooling more than a decade. She lives in Ridgeville with her husband, four boys, and a daughter. Sherry is happiest in a porch swing with a cup of coffee and an intriguing book. Kelly Osorio
Kelly Osorio is a native of Ladson. She and her husband, Oliver, are the parents of 5 wonderful kids: Abi, Leyni, Oliver, Jack and Maddie. Kelly has a BA in Spanish from Charleston Southern University, is bilingual, and has taught Spanish for 15 years to various ages and levels. Her husband is from El Salvador and together they serve faithfully at Iglesia Nueva Vida, a church with members from all over Latin America. At INV, Kelly is a Sunday School teacher. This year, Kelly teaches Middle School Spanish and High School Spanish. Julie Pasiecznik
Julie and her husband, Danny, have 5 kids and have been homeschooling for 11 years. Julie and her family have been in the LowCountry for almost 4 years and have been attending SHEEP classes for 2.5 years. She has taught a variety of classes over the years at various co-ops in Canada and 4 states where they have homeschooled. Julie enjoys teaching and learning new things with her students. They have fostered several children, adopted one and another in process of adoption. The family attends Freedom Church in Moncks Corner. Susan Reece
Susan, although born in Pennsylvania, calls South Carolina her home. She has lived in Charleston for 13 years. Raised in Tennessee, she graduated from East Tennessee State University, then moved to Georgia and obtained a Masters Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University located at Fort Gordon. She worked until her daughter, Madison, came along and has been homeschooling ever since. She is currently busy at SHEEP as the accounts payable manager, updating policies and website, and is currently teaching two classes. Her family attends Seacoast Church in Mt. Pleasant. During her off time she loves to spend every moment with her wonderful husband and terrific daughter doing almost anything. Bethany Rupert
Bethany is a native of Charleston, SC and is currently a Senior at The College of Charleston, double majoring in Psychology and Dance with a concentration in Performance and Choreography. Bethany began her dance training at Metro North Dance where she trained in the Cecchetti method of ballet for 11 years and passed Cecchetti Exams 1-6. She started training at Robert Ivey Ballet Academy in the Vaganova method of ballet in 2013 and became a trainee with Robert Ivey’s Charleston City Ballet Company in 2014. She continues her ballet and modern dance training at Charleston City Ballet and at The College of Charleston. Along with ballet and modern, she has taken contemporary, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and lyrical. Bethany has studied to be a ballet teacher under the mentorship of Carroll Thompson, Michael Wise, and Olga Wise. She began assistant teaching at the age of 12 and teaching on her own at the age of 14 with MND. She began her current ballet teaching positions at SHEEP in 2013, at Robert Ivey Ballet in 2014, and at St. John Catholic School in 2016. After graduation, her plan is to continue teaching dance to students of all ages and become a dance therapist for people with disabilities. Her desire is to bring glory to God by sharing the gift of dance with others. Laureen Rupert
Laureen has been married for 26 years and has 4 children. She has been homeschooling for 18 years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in Christian Education and Bible. Teaching has been her passion at home, at church, and at SHEEP. She has taught at SHEEP since 2013. The classes she teaches include: Math, Science, Logic, and SAT Prep. She has also been teaching High School math classes in Goose Creek for the past 3 years. She has tutored in various levels of math since she was in high school. Debra Siegal
Debra is a Charleston native. She is married to Brady and they have 4 boys-Braden, Benjamin, Ethan and Judah. She has homeschooled her children from the beginning. She has a BS in Sociology and a BS in Criminal Justice from Charleston Southern University. She began her work with children in 1993 when she began working at Northwood Assembly in the after school care program. She currently works in the children’s ministry at Crosstowne Christian Church as the director of K4-K5, child care coordinator and Awana Commander. Jenny Stauffer
Jenny is the mother of six children who enjoys giving her kids and other children the opportunity to perform. She had the vision to start Musical Theatre at SHEEP two years ago and has been able to pursue this with the help of her children and husband, Curtis. Jordan Katie Stauffer
Jordan Katie Stauffer is a 2009 LCHEA graduate and 2013 honors graduate of Charleston Southern University, where she earned her BS in European History with a double-major in theatre. While at CSU, she performed in seven CSU theatrical productions and was heavily involved in the religion and art programs. She also worked in the CSU Writing Center to help her peers improve their writing through discussion. She is thrilled to be returning to SHEEP to translate her college experiences into the classroom! Marci is the wife to Stephen and mother of two boys. She is a graduate of Charleston Southern University with a BS in Elementary Education. She taught in a public school for 7 years before she stopped to stay home and educate her own children. She has a passion for learning and teaching especially in the area of reading. Her oldest son has been apart of SHEEP since 1st grade and her youngest joined in last year. Sarah Walls
Sarah graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After college she worked in the mechanical engineering field and got married before staying home with their two kids. Sarah enjoys trying to make learning practical and fun. |
