Supplies and Books required: Materials and Supplies will be provided.
This class will have high consumable materials (food). An additional materials fee of $65 will be due mid-year and added to your January 2023 invoice.
Course Description:
6th-12th grade; Ages 12+
Through lecture, demonstration, and hands-on experience, students will learn to work with and prepare various foods and recipes. There will be chopping, mixing, searing, kneading, baking and cooking.
Students will also learn:
hygiene and kitchen safety
kitchen equipment and appliances use
techniques and skills
team communication
Our class size is going to be limited to 12 students who really have a desire to learn new skills in the kitchen, work well with others and can stay focused on tasks at hand. It is important that students are able to work independently and in a group setting.
Prior to the class start, and throughout the year, students will have video assignments to do at home. We will utilize Google Classroom for class communication. All students (and parents if they choose) will have to join. Students are encouraged to practice skills by cooking at home on a regular basis.

High School credit will not be given – no syllabus.
