Supplies and Books required: Materials and Supplies will be provided. For hygiene and safety purposes, students will be required to wear closed toe shoes, an apron (supplied in class), and skull cap (student issued).
Course Description:
Through lecture, demonstration, and hands-on experience, students will learn to work with and prepare various foods and recipes. There will be chopping, mixing, searing, kneading, baking and cooking.
Students will also learn:
hygiene and kitchen safety
kitchen equipment and appliances use
techniques and skills
team communication
Our class size is limited, students should have a desire to learn new skills in the kitchen, work well with others and can stay focused on tasks at hand. It is important that students are able to work independently and in a group setting.
We will utilize Google Classroom for class communication. All students (and parents if they choose) will have to join. Students are encouraged to practice skills by cooking at home on a regular basis.
NOTE: This class CANNOT accommodate food allergies. Please contact the instructor at Dawn@sheep.education to be placed on a waitlist if the class desired is full at registration.
High School credit will not be given – no syllabus.
