Course Description: Course Description: Elementary Musical Theatre will bring theatre to life for our students through the Broadway Kids musical SEUSSICAL KIDS! Beginning with theatre games and getting to know each other, we will begin working on the show starting in October. We will rehearse October, November, January, February and March. We will try to schedule two shows late March or early April. The rest of the school year will be full of fun theatre games and introducing audition techniques. We will rehearse on Thursdays at10:00-10:50 for the AM class or 11:00-11:50 for the PM class.
You MUST get special permission to register for musical theatre classes! Please email Jenny Stauffer at sheepmusicaltheatre@gmail.com for interest and questions. Registration information will be sent privately to those who get a slot. Don’t wait…these classes fill up quickly!
Our method of communication will be through a Facebook group. You are required to join as this allows all in leadership to share necessary information and to see and respond to communication. Jenny is available via email or private message.
There are now similar local programs available, and we need to emphasize the commitment level required for SHEEP’s year-long performance-based theatre group. Students and parents - whether elementary, junior, intermediate or high school - need to recognize and understand the requirement to refrain from committing to another non-SHEEP full-year performance-based theatre group. This keeps us all from scheduling conflicts in the spring, allows more students to participate in local homeschool theatre groups, and reflects our overall desire to have excellent theatre productions. We encourage each family to pray about participation and follow God’s leading in making this decision. Thank you for understanding. We are happy to answer any questions (sheepmusicaltheatre@gmail.com).
We’re thrilled to be working with your kids as we honor the Lord through excellent theatre! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
