Exploring science is fun! This hands-on science course uses Science in the Beginning by Dr. Jay L. Wile to introduce a wide variety of scientific topics to elementary students of all ages. Because each lesson is built around an activity or experiment, it is engaging for all K-6 students. Introducing scientific concepts in the context of history, the days of creation are used as a structure through which a wide variety of scientific topics are introduced, including; light, energy conservation, air & water, botany, the solar system, zoology, and some aspects of human anatomy and physiology. The text for this class does not need to be purchased. The class is intended to be an exciting no-pressure learning experience; therefore, it has no homework and no required curriculum. If you would like to supplement at home, there are notebooks for purchase online that correspond to the textbook I am using. However, we will not cover the entire text this year at SHEEP.
