Course Description:
This is another course from the awesome Young Explorer Series by Apologia that takes your student on an exploration of the wonderful swimming creatures God made on the fifth day of creation. From the microscopic to the most massive, no stone is left unturned in your student’s voyage through the waters of the world!
There are experiments that reinforce the scientific method and the concepts studied. Among other experiments and projects, your student will try on blubber, investigate a shark’s ability to sense electrical currents, explore how whales can hear sounds that come from far away, and learn through experimentation which creatures make the best fossils. In addition, this year, students will create a notebook (binder) full of activities, notes, and all the great things they learn about these amazing creatures! It will be a great keepsake at the end of the year! From the rivers and streams to the mighty ocean, God filled the Earth’s waters with animals great and small, and we will have a blast diving in to it all!
Your student will need the textbook Exploring Creation with Zoology 2: Swimming Creatures of the Fifth Day by Jeannie Fulbright (ISBN-13: 978-1932012736) purchased by you. The Apologia notebooking journal is not required for class. Using your materials fees, the teacher will provide for each student a three ring binder and materials for the notebook that we will add to over the course of the year. Students will be responsible for bringing their binders to class each week.
