Course Description: Did you know that American Sign Language (ASL) is the 3rd most popular language in the U.S.? ASL is a non-verbal form of communication used by the
Deaf population and hearing population, as well. This course will provide students with a basic knowledge and understanding of ASL. Learning ASL involves hand movements, facial expressions, and body positioning. Classes will cover fingerspelling, vocabulary, facial expressions, grammar, dialogues, worksheets, storytelling (with books), activities and play games. ASL is fun, educational, and useful. Some work outside of class time will be expected. There will be no voice in the classroom.
