Prerequisites: Algebra 2 required. Geometry recommended but not required.
Required for parent to purchase: Students need the Precalculus Homeschool Student Kit from A Beka Book. This kit includes the Precalculus with Trigonometry and Analytical Geometry textbook, and the Precalculus with Trigonometry and Analytical Geometry Quiz and Test Book consumable booklet. Students also need a scientific calculator and a 3-ring binder with loose leaf paper.
Course Description: This course covers the foundation of basic calculus and trigonometry. Topics include solving trigonometric equations, intercepts and symmetry, ellipses and parabolas, graphing techniques, functions, reference triangles, complex numbers, and limits. Students will learn practical applications and be prepared for more advanced mathematical courses.
Students will be given a week’s worth of homework and are responsible for checking their answers with the provided solutions. Quizzes and tests will also be assigned during the week. These must be taken and submitted online by the assigned deadlines.
