Course Description: This Spanish class is based on the study of various Spanish speaking countries and learning their culture and traditions. This class will help the student to understand Spanish, its pronunciation and comprehension. We will be using comprehensible input (CI), based in the SOMOS curriculum from Comprehensible Classroom. In particular, we will use the TPRS (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling) method of language instruction. Each student will be given access to Garbanzo.io and Sr. Wooly.com for at-home CI assignments.
The main way of communication between student/parent and teacher is by BAND app.
I use a lot of DRAMA (acting) and a lot of hands-on subjects using clothes, pictures, candies, food, flags and games to keep the students engaged.
Every week there is HOMEWORK and every week there is REVIEW of what the students have learned.
Late Work: Assignments are expected to be completed and turned in when due.

1) Access to a computer and a printer (there is a little bit of history class, and a lot of Geography that the student needs to research )
2) Binder EXCLUSIVELY for Spanish class
3) Box of colored pencils
4) Plastic sheet protectors
5) Ruled paper
