Classes

Spring show dates for each class are announced in the fall.

9th Grade – 12th Grade

2026 MUSICAL:
Matilda

As members of the most advanced class in the program, students get to perform a full-length Broadway musical each spring. These 40+ teenagers study their music under formal music direction, learn more complicated choreography and blocking to match their age level, are given opportunities to shine as individuals as well as in the group, and always exceed our high expectations for their commitment to excellence in performance.

7th Grade – 10th Grade

2026 MUSICAL:
Camp Rock

Intermediate class bridges the gap between Junior and High School! Students in the Intermediate class perform an abridged hour-long musical production like the Junior class but have a more in-depth class experience. This includes more thorough vocal work during the year and live music during performances in the spring. Students will learn more complicated choreography and blocking to match their age level.

5th Grade – 8th Grade

2026 MUSICAL:
Mary Poppins

The AM and PM Junior classes make up two separate “casts” that learn and perform the same abridged hour-long musical production. These abridged shows are geared towards a younger audience while still creating excellent theatrical experiences for the students.

2nd Grade – 5th Grade

2026 MUSICAL:
Nemo Kids

The Elementary classes provide a fun introduction to the joys of musical theatre. The Elementary classes form are two separate casts that learn and perform the same musical. Class time is spent learning songs and lines.

Students will perform an abridged 30-minute production to prerecorded performance tracks. These classes have fewer performances than the other classes and theatrical elements such as costumes and set are kept at an introductory level. Our primary goal is to have fun!

REHEARSALS
Rehearsal time is extremely valuable! Each student’s consistent attendance and engagement is essential. Rehearsals are not just about your student knowing his/her own role, but about everyone working together for a successful show. There will be extra Saturday or evening rehearsals that students are expected to attend, especially in the spring. A date will be given by which all actors will be asked to be “off book” (have lines memorized). We expect all actors, including understudy roles, to be fully prepared by this date.
High School students are required to attend and be on time for Friday lunch and rehearsal. Your child will be held accountable if we notice her/him regularly arriving late for lunch. Lunch time is a part of our rehearsal.
Attendance at Dress Rehearsal at “call time” (arrival time) is required and is not negotiable. If your student misses Dress Rehearsal, he/she will not perform in the shows. Attendance at all performances at call time is required and is not negotiable. Actors are not allowed to pick and choose which scenes/numbers they will perform. Please make yourselves aware of the show’s content early, so we can clear up any concerns at the beginning of the year.

SCHEDULING
All rehearsals in the Spring Semester are mandatory. For example, please avoid signing up for the April or May dates for college entrance exams. Missing rehearsal during this pivotal time negatively affects the cast and crew. Due to the time commitment needed for this show, cast members should not participate in other year-long programs with similar time commitments. Non-year long events or programs that could conflict with extra spring and Saturday rehearsals should be avoided or clearly communicated far in advance. Leaving early for sports events, if approved, only applies to the participants and their family (not significant others or fans). Please pick up your student on time from rehearsal. Have a backup ride in mind in case unusual circumstances arise and you cannot pick up your student. If you become injured before a performance please communicate with us immediately, regardless of the severity. If SHEEP is cancelled for inclement weather, that does not always apply to theatre. If a decision is made that we can still SAFELY have rehearsal, please know that you can always keep your student home if you think it’s the safer thing to do. Please message us privately if you decide to do so.

COSTUMES
Costumes and any cost occurred for costuming your child is the parents’ responsibility.
