Premo: Pre-Algebra
Summerville, Thursday
Instructor: Craig Premo
Email: [email protected]
Grades: 7-10
Tuition: $35
Material Fee: $35
Pre-requisites: None
Supplies and Books required (Purchase textbooks on your own):
Course Description: The Pre-Algebra curriculum is set to form a solid foundation upon which to build high school mathematics skills with Abeka’s Pre-Algebra Work-text (Fourth Edition). In this precursor to Algebra 1, lessons include in-depth explanations and examples that give your child confidence to complete assigned problems and exercises and prepare for quiz and test assessments. Strategic review sections, terms in bold print, optional level-up sections that introduce related concepts, and reference sections at the back of the text are included resources. Mathematics skills covered include evaluating algebraic expressions, solving equations, identifying signed numbers, finding rational and irrational roots, graphing equations, geometry basics, and much more.
Classroom Expectations: Students are to come in each day and get started on their warm-ups. Each of our 50 minutes together is short and precious, and no time should be wasted! I hope to make this class as engaging and enlightening as possible, and I expect the students to bring their own enthusiasm to class as they participate in classwork, as I do my best to make it relatable and realistic. Students will always maintain a respectful mindset towards the teacher, and the others around them as we will often be discussing heavy (and sometimes sensitive) topics
